Helping clients to cultivate inner-peace, personal growth, and wellness: In these times of great trials and change, of COVID and the pandemic, climate change, and political divide, and using evidence-based approaches, let me help you find your own individual path to inner peace, personal growth, and wellness for your anxiety, depression,

Although I make available more traditional forms of therapy (e.g., cognitive behavioral or CBE and Insight), my primary focus is on ecotherapy, and more specifically mindfulness-centered ecotherapy (MCE). MCE brings the healing power of nature for such issues as anxiety, depression, stress, sexual trauma, loneliness, and much more (listed below) through mindfulness. MCE is solutions-based therapy. It seeks to find answers for the now, not resolve issues from the past. Although, in the process, these old issues often are laid to rest.

Drawing from my background in psychobiology, which includes neurobiology, the sciences in general, MCE, Native American/Indigenous spirituality, over 30 years of mindfulness meditation practice (zazen), and 23 years of counseling practice that includes 16 years of equine-assisted counseling, let me help you find meaning, balance, and harmony.

In my lifetime and career, as a parent, then college professor guiding graduate students and undergraduates, then as a clinician, I’ve worked with teens, young adults, adults, seniors, couples, families, and groups. Parents, is your teen driving you crazy? Teens, are your parents driving you crazy? Offering both tele-counseling and face-to-face sessions, you will have opportunities to meet my two therapy dogs, Morgan and Lacy, or tangle with the mighty mustang, Apache, take a walk in nature, and more.
